Truist Financial Corporation is an American bank holding company headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. The company was formed in December 2019 as the result of the merger of BB&T (Branch Banking and Trust Company) and SunTrust Banks. Its bank operates 2,049 branches in 15 states and Washington, D.C., and offers consumer and commercial banking, securities brokerage, asset management and mortgages.

Martin shared his experience, "I have had good experiences with BB&T until they merged with TRUIST. I have had mortgages and HELOCs. During a recent streamline refi (IRRRL), BB&T went awry. I had to call their Executive Resolutions office in North Carolina to get their Subordination department to do job and re-subordinate. This transaction was to merely reduce my interest rate on my primary mortgage. Apparently, an internal BB&T process is to request an appraisal and conduct a loan-to-value (LTV) verification. The original note was secured with my home using an 85% LTV and an appraisal of $940K. BB&T decides now to use an arbitrary selected value of $775K called a “desktop appraisal” that was well below ($165K) the original appraisal of $940K; which was the basis for the HELOC."

"The branch constantly runs on 2 people . One teller and one banker and the Managers are always out in the market. The managers don't care if you get a break or not they are just concerned and expect you to do everything with two people . The write you up if you don't do everything they expect . They also write you up if you are helping a client and get out late from the branch due to that . Iwould never recommend the company."

"The hours are great since is 9-5 and Saturdays are half day, you get Sundays and holidays off. Training is long but is computer based. Your mentor days are not in the same branch."

"I worked with BBT for almost three years. I had went through 4 different managers. We were always short staffed, pressured to hit numbers, and never compensated for the work we did. Goals were unrealistic. Upper management only care about themselves and their numbers. They didn’t care that the employees below them were suffering, causing multitasking, which leads to mistakes."

"I got this job seeking advancement in my career to find if you do take a sick day you apparently get fired I had 2 miscarriages in their facility was approved to leave by manager had no warnings or write ups and was fired for absenteeism! So much for 10 paid sick days huh!"

"Just don’t do it. When yourself and 6 colleagues who either started with you or just after you leave the company after only a short while, you know something is wrong. Main problem, not being honest up front in the interviewing process. Maybe they’ve fixed it, who knows?"

"Some days I felt like I was hyper ventilating, I sat in my car pondering before I went into the building. Loud cackling from the co-workers and very unprofessional atmosphere, absolutely no respect. No training at all and a the oldest collections system. Absolutely no training and felt very pressured for not knowing policy, learn as you go. No work life balance and weekly staff meetings are like being in. Kindergarten classroom. A very high turnover rate."
